Previously, only those Sourcefire versions identified in the initial certification testing report as well as in the most recent testing report from November 2008 could claim ICSA Labs network IPS certification. This was because no generally available version of the Sourcefire 3D3800 had met the criteria. Until now! ICSA Labs verified that Sourcefire incorporated all fixes from prior testing into the 3D3800 running generally available version 4.8.0, Snort version 2.8.3-17, SEU Version 173-vrt, and DC3000 version 4.8.0.1. Shipping versions can now claim certification. Note too that Sourcefire continues to be tested against the April 2008 vulnerability set.
