Vālant Premium Psychiatric Suite Receives ONC HIT 2014 Edition Modular EHR Certification
July 3rd, 2014

SEATTLE – July 2, 2014Vālant Medical Solutions, Inc., the leading provider of SaaS EHR and eBilling software for the behavioral health industry, announced today that its product, Valant Premium Psychiatric Suite v. 6.0 has successfully achieved ONC HIT 2014 Edition Complete EHR certification, which designates that the software is capable of supporting eligible providers with meeting the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Valant Premium Psychiatric Suite v. 6.0 was certified on June 12, 2014 by ICSA Labs, an Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) and is compliant in accordance with applicable criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

"Investing in development to support meaningful use was an important commitment we made to Vālant's 6,500 EHR users," said David Lischner, MD and CEO of Vālant. "The ONC HIT 2014 edition certification emphasizes interoperability through Direct and the CCDA standards. These steps, along with our unique tools to support measurement based care, can enable behavioral health providers to communicate with collaborating treatment providers with greater ease. The result of this can be better clinical outcomes for patients across the board.”

Passing ONC HIT 2014 Edition certification supports Vālant's mission of transforming the quality of behavioral health in the United States through software. When the publication of Meaningful Use Stage 2 criteria hit the shelves in August 2012, both the provider and vendor community expressed concern about whether the deadline could be met.

“We assured our providers that we would not disrupt their workflow,’ adds David Lischner, MD. “Regardless of what happens with final rule making for Stage 2, I am pleased to say we have followed through on that commitment we made to our customers.”
