Canary All-in-One Home Security Solution Attains First Internet of Things Security Certification from ICSA Labs
The video-driven home security startup Canary, maker of Canary, the all-in-one security solution with HD camera, siren and air monitor, passed rigorous testing to attain the first Internet of Things (IoT) security certification from ICSA Labs, a leading third-party testing and certification body and an independent division of Verizon.
To help companies mitigate risks associated with an increasingly connected world, ICSA Labs is rolling out a new security testing program to provide assurance testing for Internet of Things (IoT) devices and sensors.
In its first round of testing, four products successfully passed ICSA Labs Windows 10 Certification, including:
- Ahnlab, Inc. - Ahnlab V3 Internet Security 9.0
- Avast Software - Avast Free Antivirus
- Microsoft Corporation - System Center Endpoint Protection (Defender)
- Sophos Ltd - Sophos Endpoint Protection
First-of-its-kind Advanced Threat Defense Solution Certification Testing from ICSA Labs confirms security products can detect known, unknown cyberthreats
Advanced Threat Protection Framework from Fortinet, Inc.; Symantec Advanced Threat Protection from Symantec Corporation; and Trend Micro Deep Discovery™ Inspector from Trend Micro Incorporated became the first products to earn ICSA Labs’ Advanced Threat Defense Certification after a five-week period of continuous, rigorous testing.
According to Jack Walsh, mobility program manager, ICSA Labs: “With more mobile payment systems coming online, and as more devices connect to the cloud, we will begin to see an uptick in security threats to mobile devices. Add to this the bring- your-own-device and bring-your-own-app trends, and it’s easy to understand that mobile devices will be the next frontier for hackers.
