Overview

Why SD-WAN?

A software-defined wide-area network or SD-WAN is a WAN edge technology born out of necessity as large organizations attempt to contain WAN implementation costs, ease the burden of administration and improve the organization’s application performance.

In an SD-WAN network, SD-WAN edge devices dynamically select the best path for application traffic when there is path degradation independent of the underlying WAN connection types such as broadband Internet, private MPLS and fixed wireless.  Deployment and management of these edge devices is simplified with single-pane-of-glass administration and auto-provisioning.  SD-WAN networks feature unified enforcement of an organization’s security policy at multiple SD-WAN network boundary points.

ICSA Labs Secure SD-WAN Certification Testing

ICSA Labs began testing Secure SD-WAN solutions in Q4 2019. If your company develops SD-WAN technology and you are interested in participating then you may register for ICSA Labs security certification testing at any time.  Before doing so, we suggest that you review the DRAFT criteria against which products will be tested.
